Quick Fix to a Common Problem

As mechanical lawn maintenance takes place over several growing seasons, an unavoidable form of property damage takes place.

WEED WACKER CONTACT DAMAGE TO SUCEPTIBLE EXTERIOR SURFACES.

Here is an example of a fairly standard front yard light post surrounded by grass. Over years of weed wacking/line-trimming of grass growing around this light post, mechanical maintenance efforts have left notceable scratches, scuffs, etc. along its base.

Scratches on light post from routine grass trimming by weed wacker.

After a fresh coat of paint, we added a high impact, protective PVC collar (Post Shield - sized to diameter of light post) to prevent future grass trimming equipment from making direct contact with post.

From this point forward, we will be recommending this simple, yet discreet protective collar to all discerning property owners that would like to keep their light, fence, deck and mail box posts looking great and avoid the need for future repairs.
