If there is one vine that can almost certainly withstand any weather, any stress and at any time, it's trumpet vine!
We're called upon several times per year to remove trumpet vine for property owners that wish to reclaim a particular planting space that the vine has overtaken. It's not that the vine isn't beautiful, because it is. It's just that trumpet vine does not stop growing, expanding in just about every direction and assuming all surrounding available space in the landscape.
If you have a mature trumpet vine that you would like removed from your property, a few words of advice if I may. Get started removing it as soon as possible and do not plant in the same location for a few years after. You will almost certainly find the vine returning in some form the following growing season which will require physical removal (soil excavation), yet again.
